Superintendent's Welcome
Let me thank you for taking time to visit our website, and I hope you find it informative. One of the things we like to say about Clinton City Schools is that we are family. Being a small town with five schools affords me the opportunity to get to know our students, teachers and families and was one of the reasons I was drawn to this school system. As you will hopefully discover, I am very approachable and my desire is to improve learning outcomes for every student who attends CCS. With this in mind, I hope you will feel comfortable reaching out to me with ideas, questions or items of concern.
One saying that we have adopted in Clinton City Schools is “All means All.” We want all learners to feel welcomed, valued and contributing partners of Dark Horse Nation. I intend to make sure that all our students are provided high quality learning experiences (facilitated through an equity and data lens) where students are met at their point of need and provided supports that help them reach their highest academic, social and emotional levels of intelligence. Clinton City Schools will work diligently to prepare all our students to be College and Career Ready so they have options for their future and will be prepared to be productive members of our community and society when they leave our school system.
These goals cannot be reached with only the educators of our organization. If our school system is going to excel, we need parent, family and community partners to be active participants. We need to be on the same team and working together. Clinton is a great town and community, and we want to keep it this way. I truly believe that the foundation to economic and social growth starts in our schools, and I’m asking you to be partners with the fabulous educators of Clinton City Schools as we help all current and future Dark Horses to RISE UP!
Warm Regards,
Wesley Scott Johnson, EdD
