About Clinton High School
Clinton High, the only secondary school in the Clinton City Schools District, is located in the heart of Sampson County in Southeastern North Carolina. The community is a small urban trade center for a large rural agribusiness economy. The population is approximately 8,756. Clinton High School is a comprehensive high school with a wide variety of courses and programs - 162 courses in 14 major disciplines. More than 60% of Clinton High Schools graduates attend four-year colleges or universities and 85% attend post-secondary institutions. Clinton High School operates on a concentrated block schedule in which students take four 90-minutes classes per day each semester. Therefore, students may earn a total of eight full credits during a school year. Honors and Advanced Placement courses, as well as career-technical education courses, are offered in many areas to prepare the students to reach their goals in life. The Renaissance Program is an integral part of Clinton High School. It is a strong partnership which exists among the school, businesses and the community and is a commitment to make Clinton High School a center of academics. The Renaissance Program gets results - over 325 students are recognized for their academic successes at each six weeks school-wide assembly. Students who score at levels 3 and 4 under the State ABC's Program are given awards and other incentives.
